• All Maine-issued vital records must be originals or certified copies issued within the last five years through the County Office of the Vital Records or Maine Department of Public Health and certified with a hand signature and seal.
• Vital records, including birth certificates, death certificates, or marriage certificates cannot be notarized and must be endorsed with the seal and the signature.
• All academic records (including school transcripts, diplomas, etc.) must be signed and certified by the school registrar and notarized by a notary public.
• To authenticate corporate records with Maine, apostille, you will have to obtain hand-signed certified (pen in hand) photocopies issued by the Maine Secretary of State Corporations Division.
